The Hermitage of San Colombano was built in the rock in 1319, when it was dedicated to St Columbanus, who slayed the dragon that was eating all of the children who had been baptised in the waters of the River Leno. The dragon’s cave was on the site where the hermitage now stands.
The Campana dei Caduti in Rovereto, also known as Maria Dolens, is a bell that was cast in Trento in 1924, using bronze from the cannons of the 19 nations that had fought the First World War. The Sacrario Militare del Pasubio, is a monument to the dead of the First World War and it contains the remains of 5,146 Italian soldiers and 40 Austrian troopers who died on Mount Pasubio.
The Speccheri Dam, completed in 1957 is a reservoir containing some 10 million cubic metres of water and is 156.85 metres high.
